Chordata was founded in 2018 to bring together specialists in biosensor and tracking technology; data science, connectivity and machine learning; needs analysis, experience design and impact evaluation to develop transformational solutions to improve animal health and wellbeing.
We work with veterinary scientists, farmers, producers, pharma and insurance companies, policy-makers, animal and pet food manufacturers and pet owners to co-develop effective technology. Our systems include machine learning algorithms and application interfaces for treatment decision support, co-designed with users.
We raise grant funding, equity capital and partner investment and lead projects through from concept to commercial exploitation.
The time is right to simplify on-farm technology to provide powerful outcomes at low cost for farm managers and vets, with insight for policy makers, pharma, retailers and processors. Pet owners continue to suffer from ineffective ID systems and struggle to manage their pet’s weight, exercise, mental health and wellbeing in the absence of simple, early detection of health issues. Affordable technology is now available to meet this challenge.
Over the coming months we and our partners – the Fraunhofer Institute, Newcastle University, Centre for Innovation Excellence in Livestock and CareWhere will launch Chordata PLF and Chordata Pet in the UK and selected international markets.
